Email automation with sequences, campaigns and a shared inbox
Slide, by Synquic, automates email from your own authenticated domain: sequences send a first email and up to five threaded follow-ups that stop when the person replies, campaigns go to segments with A/B tests and one-click unsubscribe, and replies reach a shared inbox where your team or an AI agent answers. Marketing email belongs in sequences and campaigns, because the automation "send email" step adds no unsubscribe link and does not check the unsubscribe list. There is no MENA-wide email rule, so each country's law applies: Qatar's Article 22, for example, applies to email alongside text and social media. Singapore, Kenya, South Africa and Canada have their own email page because they set rules aimed at marketing email; other markets are covered on their location pages.

The buyer and the problem
Businesses that follow up enquiries, onboard customers or send offers and newsletters by email, and want that email to come from their own domain and sit on the same contact record as their WhatsApp and Instagram conversations.
Follow-up email is easy to start and easy to get wrong: a sequence that keeps going after the person has replied, a campaign that reaches people who unsubscribed, addresses that keep bouncing. In several markets the law also asks for consent, a clear sender and a working unsubscribe in every marketing email, and a tool that skips any of those leaves the business exposed.
Supported capabilities, mapped to the product
Send from your own domain
Add your sending domain and the DNS records Slide shows, then verify it. Automation emails go out through your organisation's own mail connection.
Source:Email channel setup guideSequences that stop on reply
A first email and up to five threaded follow-ups, 1 hour to 60 days apart. A reply stops the sequence when a mailbox is connected; each email carries an unsubscribe line by default, and unsubscribed, suppressed or bounced addresses are skipped. Sequences follow a single path, with no branching.
Source:Campaigns guideCampaigns to segments, with A/B tests
Send to segments, test the subject, content, sender name or preview text, and track opens and clicks. Every campaign email has a one-click unsubscribe.
Source:Campaigns guideBounce and complaint suppression
Hard bounces and complaints are suppressed automatically. Soft bounces are not, and there is no list cleaning or address verification, so watch the first sends.
Source:Campaigns guideTriggers from Shopify and your forms
Store events such as abandoned checkout, order confirmation and win-back, and submissions from popups, the site form, landing pages and ad lead forms, can start email automations.
Replies in a shared inbox, with an AI agent
Replies to a connected mailbox arrive as threads in the shared inbox, with assignment and open or closed states. An AI agent can answer email from your knowledge base, and a handoff step brings a person in. Replies are read by polling, not in real time.
Campaign and revenue reporting
Campaign and sequence statistics, step-by-step automation logs, and Shopify revenue attributed to each email campaign.
Source:Campaigns guideTransactional email from automations
An automation step can send a receipt, a confirmation or an answer to a request. That step adds no unsubscribe link or header and does not check the unsubscribe or suppression lists, so it is for transactional mail only.
Where marketing email belongs
Slide sends email three ways, and only two of them handle unsubscribes. Sequences add an unsubscribe line to every email and skip addresses that have unsubscribed, been suppressed or bounced. Campaigns add a one-click unsubscribe and suppress hard bounces and complaints.
The automation "send email" step does neither. It adds no unsubscribe link or header and does not check the unsubscribe or suppression lists. That is right for a receipt, a booking confirmation or a reply to someone's request, and wrong for anything promotional. Wherever marketing law requires an unsubscribe, and in Singapore, Kenya, South Africa, Canada and Qatar it does, send marketing email through a sequence or a campaign, never through the automation step.
A website enquiry followed up by email until the person answers
An interior design studio adds a contact form to its site and wants every enquiry followed up without anyone tracking dates by hand. This is how one enquiry moves through the flow it builds in Slide.
- Trigger
A visitor submits the contact form
The submission creates or updates the contact and starts an automation.
- Action
An acknowledgement goes out at once
An automation step sends "We have your enquiry" from the studio's own domain. It is transactional, so the automation step is the right tool for it.
- Customer interaction
A sequence follows up
The automation adds the contact to a follow-up sequence: a portfolio email the next morning, then two threaded follow-ups a few days apart, each with an unsubscribe line.
- Qualification
A reply stops the sequence
The visitor replies to the second email with a room size and a budget. The connected mailbox picks the reply up on its next check and the sequence stops, so no further follow-up goes out.
- Human handoff
A designer takes the thread
The reply appears in the shared inbox, where it is assigned to a designer who answers from the same thread.
- Exception
If the address bounces or unsubscribes
A hard bounce or an unsubscribe removes the address from every later send in the sequence. A soft bounce is not suppressed, so someone checks those by hand.
- Recorded outcome
The enquiry is on one contact record
The contact carries the form answers, the thread and the sequence history, and the automation run is logged step by step beside the sequence statistics.

What you need, and the launch sequence
Requirements
- A sending domain you control
Add the domain in Slide, publish the DNS records it shows, and verify. Mail then goes out under your own name and domain.
Source:Email channel setup guide - A connected mailbox
Needed if replies should reach the inbox and stop sequences. Replies are read by polling, so allow for a short delay.
Source:Email channel setup guideCampaigns guide - A record of consent
Slide has no double opt-in, so decide how you collect consent and record its source in a custom field on the contact before you import or capture addresses.
Source:Automation builder guideContacts guide - Email credits
Each send draws on the email credits that come with your plan, and more can be added. A sequence pauses rather than fails when credits run out.

Launch sequence
Add and verify your sending domain and connect a mailbox (email channel setup guide).
Import contacts with their consent source in a custom field (contacts guide) and decide which addresses you may market to.
Build sequences and campaigns (campaigns guide) and keep the unsubscribe in every marketing email.
Keep the automation "send email" step for transactional mail: receipts, confirmations and replies to requests.
Send tests to your own addresses and check the sender name, the unsubscribe and how a reply stops the sequence.
After the first sends, review bounces and complaints, and remove soft-bouncing addresses by hand.
Email rules by market, including MENA
Email in Slide works the same in every country. The law around marketing email does not: four markets on this site set rules aimed squarely at it and have their own email page, and others, such as Qatar, apply a direct-marketing rule to email alongside other channels.
No MENA-wide email rule
MENA has no single official list of countries (the World Bank groups 23 economies under the name), and no region-wide email rule applies. Each country's law does: the UAE's Personal Data Protection Law requires consent with exceptions, and free zones such as DIFC have their own law; Qatar's Article 22 requires prior consent for electronic direct marketing, which the regulator's guideline says includes email, and asks for the sender, a marketing label and an unsubscribe address in each message. See the UAE, Dubai and Qatar pages.

Saudi Arabia's Personal Data Protection Law has been fully enforceable since 14 September 2024, and the telecoms regulator publishes regulations for curbing spam. This site has not verified their email-marketing details, so there is no Saudi email page yet; the Saudi Arabia page covers what has been checked.

Kenya's 2021 Regulations require a free way to stop, a sender that is not disguised, a valid opt-out address, and an opt-out link stated prominently in every marketing email. See email automation in Kenya.

Email automation by market
- Email automation in SingaporeHow Singapore businesses send email campaigns and sequences with Slide, and what the Spam Control Act's "<ADV>" label and unsubscribe rules mean.
- Email automation in KenyaHow businesses in Kenya run email campaigns and sequences with Slide, and how the 2021 Regulations' opt-out rules map to unsubscribe and suppression.
- Email automation in South AfricaHow South African businesses use Slide for email campaigns and sequences under POPIA section 69: customer soft opt-in, one consent request, opt-outs.
- Email automation in CanadaHow Canadian businesses use Slide for email campaigns and sequences under CASL: consent and its expiry, sender identification, unsubscribes and Quebec.
What these claims rest on
- Email sends from the business's own authenticated domain or connected mailbox
Add the sending domain and its DNS records, then verify. A mailbox can be connected so replies arrive in the inbox (read by polling, not in real time). Automation emails use the organisation's own mail connection.
- Email sequences send a first email and up to 5 follow-ups that stop when the person replies
Follow-ups 1 hour to 60 days apart, threaded, stopped on reply (needs a connected mailbox). Each email carries an unsubscribe line by default, and unsubscribed, suppressed or bounced addresses are skipped. Sequences are single-path.
- Email campaigns support segments, A/B tests, open and click tracking, one-click unsubscribe and bounce suppression
A/B tests on subject, content, sender name or preview text; one-click unsubscribe; hard bounces and complaints are suppressed. Soft bounces are not suppressed and there is no list cleaning.
- Email sends draw on email credits that come with the plan, and sequences pause when credits run out
Plans include a monthly email allowance and credits can be added; a sequence pauses with "no email credits" rather than failing silently.
- Reporting covers WhatsApp delivery and reads, email opens and clicks, automation runs, and Shopify revenue
WhatsApp reports (sent, delivered, read, failed, cost), email campaign and sequence statistics, Instagram insights, per-run automation logs and Shopify revenue per email campaign. There is no cross-channel attribution report, and WhatsApp revenue is not shown in the dashboard.
- Cleanse Ayurveda runs post-purchase journeys after the order
Published setup: 4 automations live; the store connected so post-purchase guidance runs on WhatsApp, Instagram and email.
How the cost is made up
Email runs on the Slide plan. A workspace created with an Indian number is billed in rupees and every other workspace in US dollars; plans and current prices are on the pricing page, paid plans start with a 14-day trial, and AI agent replies depend on the plan. Outside India, confirm the payment method with the Slide team before you subscribe.
Each email sent draws on the email credits that come with the plan, and more credits can be added. When credits run out, a sequence pauses with a "no email credits" status rather than failing silently. There is no per-message charge from Meta on email; that applies to WhatsApp only.
When this fits, and what it does not do
A good fit when
- Follow-up after a form, an enquiry or a purchase that should stop as soon as the person replies.
- Newsletters and offers to segments, with A/B tests on the subject or the sender name.
- A Shopify store that wants revenue per email campaign alongside WhatsApp order updates.
Needs a person when
- Replies that ask a real question: they land in the shared inbox for the team or the AI agent.
- Complaints and disputes about unsubscribes.
- Cleaning a list: Slide does not verify addresses or remove soft bounces.
Not established by this page
- Inbox placement or deliverability rates: Slide publishes none, and offers no dedicated sending IPs.
- Any change in opens, clicks or revenue: Slide publishes no measured outcomes.
- Where customer data is hosted. Ask the Slide team before you sign.
Direct answers
What can Slide automate by email?
Follow-up sequences of up to six emails that stop when the person replies, campaigns to segments with A/B tests and open and click tracking, and emails triggered by Shopify events or form submissions. Replies reach a shared inbox, where your team or an AI agent answers. Everything is sent from your own authenticated domain.
Source:Campaigns guideCampaigns guideShopify guideAutomation builder guideGetting started guideEmail channel setup guideWhat is the difference between a sequence, a campaign and the automation email step?
A sequence is a first email and up to five threaded follow-ups that stop on reply, each with an unsubscribe line. A campaign is a send to a segment, with A/B tests, tracking and one-click unsubscribe. The automation "send email" step sends a single email from inside a flow, and it adds no unsubscribe link and does not check the unsubscribe or suppression lists. Use sequences and campaigns for marketing, and keep the automation step for transactional mail.
Source:Campaigns guideCampaigns guideWhat do we need to send from our own domain?
A domain you control, the DNS records Slide shows published on it, and a verification check in Slide. Connect a mailbox as well if replies should arrive in the inbox and stop sequences; replies are read by polling, so they appear after a short delay rather than instantly. Automation emails always go out through your organisation's own mail connection.
Source:Email channel setup guideCampaigns guideHow does Slide handle unsubscribes, bounces and complaints?
Sequences add an unsubscribe line by default and skip unsubscribed, suppressed and bounced addresses. Campaigns add a one-click unsubscribe and suppress hard bounces and complaints automatically; soft bounces are not suppressed. The automation "send email" step checks none of these lists, which is why marketing should never go through it.
Source:Campaigns guideCampaigns guideDoes Slide support double opt-in, list cleaning or consent records?
Not today. There is no double opt-in, no address verification and no list cleaning. You can record where and when consent was given in a custom field on each contact, but contacts cannot be exported from Slide. If your market requires you to prove consent, plan how you will keep that record before you collect addresses.
Source:Automation builder guideCampaigns guideContacts guideHow is email charged?
Through the Slide plan, billed in rupees for a workspace created with an Indian number and in US dollars otherwise, with prices on the pricing page. Each email sent draws on the plan's email credits, which can be topped up; a sequence pauses rather than fails when they run out. Email carries no per-message charge from Meta, which applies to WhatsApp only.
Source:Slide pricingBilling and wallet guideSlide pricingMeta: WhatsApp pricing (opens in a new tab)Is there a rule for email automation in MENA?
No region-wide email rule exists: MENA has no single official definition, and each country's own law applies. The UAE's Personal Data Protection Law requires consent with exceptions, and Qatar's Article 22 requires prior consent, a visible sender, a marketing label and an unsubscribe address in each marketing message. For Saudi Arabia, this site has not yet verified the email-marketing specifics. The UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia location pages set out what has been checked.

Because those four set rules aimed at marketing email that change how a sequence or campaign must be built: Singapore's "<ADV>" label, Kenya's opt-out link and sender rules, South Africa's consent and customer exception under POPIA section 69, and Canada's CASL consent periods and 10-business-day unsubscribes. Other markets are covered on their location pages: Qatar's Article 22 applies to email alongside text and social media; India's TRAI rules cover SMS and voice rather than email; Nigeria's GAID consent rule applies to every channel.

Yes. Replies to a connected mailbox arrive in the shared inbox, and an AI agent can answer them from your knowledge base, with a handoff step to bring a person in. Email threads can be assigned and marked open or closed. AI replies depend on your plan.
Source:Automation builder guideGetting started guideAutomation builder guideKey facts: Email automation
Slide is a reasonable fit if you want follow-up sequences that stop on reply, segmented campaigns with A/B tests and unsubscribe handling, and email on the same contact record as WhatsApp and Instagram, sent from your own domain. It is a weaker fit if you need branching sequences, double opt-in, list cleaning or address verification, a contacts or consent export, dedicated sending IPs, or marketing email sent straight from an automation step, which carries no unsubscribe link.
