Messaging automation for businesses in the UAE
Slide, by Synquic, lets a business in the United Arab Emirates automate WhatsApp, Instagram and email from one workspace: menu bots and AI agents on WhatsApp, comment-to-DM and DM replies on Instagram, and email campaigns and sequences, all on one contact record. Messages to +971 numbers are priced on Meta's own UAE line, and Meta publishes an AED rate card, but Slide bills a UAE workspace in US dollars. Contact data falls under the federal PDPL unless your business sits in a free zone with its own law, such as DIFC or ADGM.

The buyer and the problem
Businesses operating in the UAE, on the mainland or in a free zone, that talk to customers on WhatsApp, Instagram or email and want one team inbox and automation across them.
Customer conversations are split between a WhatsApp phone, Instagram DMs and a shared mailbox, in Arabic and English. Before automating, a UAE team has to settle questions a generic feature page skips: what a WhatsApp message to a +971 number costs and in which currency, which data law covers its contact list, whether WhatsApp calling can be offered, and which languages its templates can use.
WhatsApp in the UAE
Meta prices messages to +971 numbers on a standalone UAE line, and AED is one of the currencies Meta publishes rate cards in. Slide does not bill in dirhams: the workspace is in US dollars, per-message charges come out of the prepaid wallet, and the wallet shows the exact price per message for your account. Since 1 October 2026 service replies inside the 24-hour window are charged at the UAE utility rate once a number passes 1,000 in a month.
Two points are specific to the UAE. If your business is based outside the country and sends authentication templates, such as one-time passwords, to UAE numbers at high volume (750,000 outside the service window in a rolling 30 days), Meta applies a higher authentication-international rate. And although Slide includes WhatsApp business calling, TDRA says calling over third-party VoIP is illegal unless the provider is licensed or approved, and whether WhatsApp business calls connect to UAE consumers has not been verified, so plan UAE support around messages rather than calls.
TDRA's marketing rules (prior explicit consent, sending only between 07:00 and 21:00, an unsubscribe, and promotional sender IDs starting with "AD") are written for SMS, and the TDRA FAQ does not say whether they reach WhatsApp. Slide's SMS channel works for Indian numbers only, so SMS is not part of a UAE setup. On WhatsApp, Meta's policy applies regardless: opt-in that names your business before you message someone first, and every opt-out honoured.
Templates can be written in Arabic or English in Slide's editor and are approved by Meta. The AI agent replies in Arabic only when its instructions say so, and your team works in an English dashboard. Setup steps are on WhatsApp automation in the UAE, and a full support workflow is on WhatsApp customer service in the UAE.
Instagram in the UAE
No UAE rule aimed specifically at Instagram direct messages was verified for this page, and TDRA's marketing rules address SMS. An Instagram setup in the UAE is therefore governed by Meta's platform rules plus the PDPL for the contact data you collect, which is why Instagram in the UAE is answered here rather than on a page of its own.
In Slide you can reply to comments on chosen posts or on all posts with a public reply and one private DM within Meta's 7-day limit, answer DMs and story replies with keyword rules or an AI agent, and capture email addresses into contacts. Slide cannot send Instagram broadcasts or any message after the 24-hour window, and someone who only comments becomes a contact once they send a DM. Meta also requires automated chats to say they are automated where the law requires it. The Instagram automation page covers the rest.
Email in the UAE
No UAE rule specific to marketing email was verified either: the TDRA rules above are written for SMS. The PDPL still covers the email addresses you hold, including its consent requirement (with its exceptions) and its conditions for transferring data outside the UAE.
Send marketing email to UAE contacts as Slide campaigns or sequences, which carry an unsubscribe and skip unsubscribed, suppressed and bounced addresses. The automation "send email" step does not add an unsubscribe link or check those lists, so use it for transactional mail such as booking or order confirmations. Mail goes out from your own authenticated domain, and because Slide forms have no double opt-in, store where each address came from in a contact field. Setup is on email automation.
What is specific to the UAE
The UAE has its own WhatsApp price line
Meta prices messages to +971 numbers on a UAE line that covers every emirate, and AED is a Meta rate-card currency. Slide bills a workspace created with a non-Indian number in US dollars, so the AED card is a reference point rather than the currency of your Slide invoice.

Federal Decree-Law 45 of 2021 has been in force since 2 January 2022 and is overseen by the UAE Data Office. It requires consent for processing, with exceptions, and sets conditions for sending data abroad. Free zones with their own data law, such as DIFC and ADGM, follow that law instead; the Dubai page covers DIFC.

TDRA treats calls over third-party VoIP as illegal unless the provider is licensed or approved. Meta does not list the UAE as unavailable for business calling, but whether calls connect to UAE consumers is unverified, so this page does not offer it.

What these claims rest on
- The United Arab Emirates is its own WhatsApp pricing market, and AED is a Meta billing currency
Messages to +971 numbers are priced on the UAE line, which covers Dubai and every other emirate.
- The UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law 45 of 2021) requires consent for processing, with exceptions
In force since 2 January 2022 and overseen by the UAE Data Office. It sets conditions for transferring data abroad. Free zones with their own data law, such as DIFC and ADGM, are covered by those laws.
Official sourceChecked 11 October 2026UAE government portal: Data protection laws (opens in a new tab) - TDRA rules require prior explicit consent, 07:00 to 21:00 sending and an unsubscribe for marketing SMS
Marketing messages may not be sent without prior explicit consent; consent records must be kept; promotional sender IDs start with "AD". The FAQ addresses SMS and does not say whether it reaches WhatsApp.
- UAE rules restrict VoIP calling to licensed or approved services
TDRA says using third-party VoIP to make calls is illegal unless the provider is licensed or approved. Meta does not list the UAE as unavailable for business calling, so whether WhatsApp business calls connect to UAE consumers is unverified.
- Arabic is the official language of the UAE, with English widely used in business
"Arabic is the official language of the UAE." Signs are in Arabic and English.
How the cost is made up
A UAE workspace pays for two things. The Slide plan, billed in US dollars for a workspace created with a +971 or other non-Indian number, decides the features: plans and prices are on the pricing page, paid plans start with a 14-day trial, and the payment method should be confirmed with the Slide team before you subscribe.
WhatsApp messages are charged by Meta, one by one, at the UAE rate for each +971 recipient and drawn from the Slide wallet; since 1 October 2026 that includes service replies beyond 1,000 a month per business number. Instagram replies carry no per-message charge from Meta, and email sends use the plan's email credits.
When this fits, and what it does not do
A good fit when
- Customers who already write to you on WhatsApp or Instagram, in Arabic or English.
- A team that works one inbox for WhatsApp, Instagram and email.
- A Shopify store sending order updates and abandoned-checkout messages to +971 numbers.
Needs a person when
- Complaints, refunds and anything that needs judgement.
- An Arabic conversation the AI agent was not instructed to handle.
- Working out whether your business falls under the PDPL or a free-zone law.
Not established by this page
- Whether WhatsApp business calls connect to UAE consumers.
- Where customer data is hosted. Ask the Slide team before you sign.
- Whether a card issued in the UAE is accepted: confirm the payment method with the Slide team.
Direct answers
What does a WhatsApp message to a UAE number cost through Slide?
Meta sets the price per message on its UAE line, by category: marketing, utility and authentication templates each have their own rate, and since 1 October 2026 service replies are charged at the utility rate after the first 1,000 each month per business number. Slide takes these charges from your prepaid wallet, which shows the exact per-message price for your account, separately from the plan. This page quotes no rates because they change.

US dollars. A workspace's currency is fixed when it is created, from the country of the sign-up phone number: an Indian number gives rupees, a +971 or any other number gives dollars, and there is no dirham option. Meta publishing an AED rate card does not change the currency Slide bills in. Confirm the payment method with the Slide team before you subscribe.
Source:Billing and wallet guideSlide pricingMeta: WhatsApp pricing (opens in a new tab)Can we offer WhatsApp calls to customers in the UAE?
Not as something this page promises. Slide includes WhatsApp business calling, and Meta does not list the UAE as unavailable, but TDRA says calling over third-party VoIP is illegal unless the provider is licensed or approved, and whether WhatsApp business calls connect to UAE consumers has not been verified. Plan support on messages, and test calling yourself before you tell customers it exists.
Source:TDRA: FAQs (opens in a new tab)Meta: WhatsApp Business Calling (opens in a new tab)Do TDRA's SMS marketing rules apply to WhatsApp?
The TDRA FAQ that sets out prior explicit consent, sending hours of 07:00 to 21:00, an unsubscribe and "AD" sender IDs addresses SMS, and it does not say whether those rules reach WhatsApp. On WhatsApp, Meta requires opt-in before you message someone first and every opt-out to be honoured, and the PDPL's consent rule covers the data. Slide does not send SMS to UAE numbers, since its SMS channel is limited to India.
Source:TDRA: FAQs (opens in a new tab)WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy (opens in a new tab)UAE government portal: Data protection laws (opens in a new tab)We are in a free zone. Which data law applies?
The federal PDPL steps aside in free zones that have their own data protection law, such as DIFC and ADGM, and those zones' laws apply instead. For a DIFC business that is the DIFC Data Protection Law (DIFC Law No. 5 of 2020), which requires notifying the Commissioner of Data Protection and gives people a right to object to direct marketing; the Dubai page goes through it. If your free zone is not one of these, check with your adviser which law covers you.
Source:UAE government portal: Data protection laws (opens in a new tab)DIFC: Commissioner of Data Protection (opens in a new tab)Will our customer data leave the UAE?
This page does not state where Slide hosts data, so ask the Slide team before you sign. The answer matters because the PDPL sets conditions for transferring personal data outside the UAE, and your assessment of a messaging platform depends on where the contact records and conversations are stored. Slide does not certify that any business's setup meets the PDPL.
Source:UAE government portal: Data protection laws (opens in a new tab)Which languages can our messages use?
Arabic is the UAE's official language and English is widely used in business, and Slide's template editor has both, so you can submit Arabic and English versions of each template to Meta. Free-form replies inside the 24-hour window can be in any language. The AI agent answers in Arabic only if its instructions say so, and the Slide dashboard is in English, without a right-to-left layout.
Source:UAE government portal: Fact sheet (opens in a new tab)Automation builder guideDoes Slide have an office or team in the UAE?
No. Synquic does not claim an office, team or phone line in the UAE. Sales and support run by email (sales@synquic.com), with a 30-minute product demo you can book; plans include email support and the top tiers add a dedicated account manager. Support hours and support languages are not published, so ask about Arabic-language support before you sign if your team needs it.
Source:Slide pricingCan we automate Instagram and email for UAE customers in the same workspace?
Yes. Instagram comment-to-DM, DM replies and an AI agent work under Meta's rules (replies only within 24 hours of the person's last message, no broadcasts), and email campaigns and sequences send from your own domain with an unsubscribe in every message. Both write to the same contact record as WhatsApp. Keep marketing email out of the automation "send email" step, which adds no unsubscribe link.

Slide is a reasonable fit for a UAE business that wants WhatsApp, Instagram and email in one inbox, with Arabic and English templates and Shopify order messages, and that is comfortable paying in US dollars and working in an English dashboard. It is a weaker fit if you need WhatsApp calling to UAE customers, SMS marketing in the UAE, an Arabic interface, invoices in dirhams or a team on the ground.
