WhatsApp, Instagram and email automation for businesses in Singapore

In Singapore the first question is the number list, not the platform: the Do Not Call rules cover marketing messages sent over WhatsApp to Singapore numbers, so each number must be checked against the DNC registry within 21 days unless you hold clear, documented consent. Slide automates WhatsApp, Instagram and email conversations for businesses in Singapore from one contact record and bills the workspace in US dollars. WhatsApp messages to +65 numbers are charged on Meta's Singapore rate line, a market of its own since 1 July 2026.

Who it is for

The buyer and the problem

Businesses in Singapore, and businesses abroad selling to Singapore customers, that want to automate WhatsApp enquiries and campaigns, Instagram comment and DM replies, and email campaigns from one place.

Singapore regulates the act of marketing to a phone number, not only the data behind it. A WhatsApp promotion sent to numbers that were never checked against the DNC registry, or bulk commercial email without the "<ADV>" label, is a problem whichever tool sent it. A buyer needs to know which of those mechanics the platform supports and which stay with the business.

WhatsApp in Singapore

Meta moved Singapore out of its Rest of Asia Pacific group on 1 July 2026, so messages to +65 numbers now have their own rate line, and Meta publishes a Singapore dollar rate card. That changes Meta's price per message, not Slide's currency: Slide bills a Singapore workspace in US dollars and takes WhatsApp charges from its prepaid wallet.

Marketing is where Singapore differs most. The Do Not Call provisions apply to marketing messages sent to Singapore numbers by voice, SMS or data applications such as WhatsApp. Unless you hold clear and unambiguous consent in a form you can produce, check each number against the DNC registry within the 21 days before you send. The registry check happens outside Slide; inside Slide, keep checked or consented numbers in their own tag or segment and send marketing templates only to that segment.

Singapore is also one of the two markets, with India, where WhatsApp address request messages work, which helps when a delivery address is needed inside the chat. For the full picture, read WhatsApp automation in Singapore and the sales conversion workflow, which builds DNC checks into lead follow-up.

Instagram in Singapore

The DNC rules attach to Singapore telephone numbers, so they do not govern a reply to an Instagram account. Instagram automation in Slide runs on Meta's global rules instead: replies within 24 hours of the person's last message, one private reply per comment within 7 days, no broadcast DMs and nothing after the window closes.

Inside those rules Slide replies to comments with keyword rules, answers story replies and live comments, asks quick-reply questions, captures email addresses into contacts, and can pass the conversation to an AI agent or a teammate. Anything you collect is personal data under the PDPA, which generally needs consent and a notified purpose, so say what an email address will be used for when the DM asks for it.

The Spam Control Act has covered instant messaging accounts since 2020, and it is aimed at unsolicited commercial messages sent in bulk. Slide sends Instagram messages only as replies to people who wrote or commented first; whether a particular reply falls under the Act is a question for your adviser.

Email in Singapore

The Spam Control Act sets the email rules. It covers unsolicited commercial messages sent in bulk, meaning more than 100 in 24 hours, 1,000 in 30 days or 10,000 in a year, and requires the "<ADV>" label and an unsubscribe facility on that email. Instant messages are in scope as well but are exempt from the label.

Slide's email campaigns carry one-click unsubscribe and suppress hard bounces and complaints, and sequences add an unsubscribe line by default. Add the "<ADV>" label yourself when you write a campaign that needs it. The automation "send email" step adds no unsubscribe and ignores the unsubscribe list, so keep marketing out of it. The setup, including the PDPA, is on email automation in Singapore.

Local considerations

What is specific to Singapore

  • A WhatsApp rate line of its own since 1 July 2026

Singapore left Meta's Rest of Asia Pacific group on 1 July 2026 and now has a standalone rate line, and SGD is among the currencies Meta publishes rate cards in. Slide still bills the workspace in US dollars, so read the per-message price in your wallet rather than Meta's SGD card.

  • Do Not Call checks cover WhatsApp marketing

The PDPC's guidelines apply the DNC provisions to marketing messages sent to Singapore numbers by voice, SMS or data applications such as WhatsApp. Numbers must be checked against the DNC registry within 21 days, unless there is clear and unambiguous consent in evidential form.

  • The Spam Control Act covers bulk email and instant messages

Unsolicited commercial messages sent in bulk (over 100 in 24 hours, 1,000 in 30 days or 10,000 in a year) need an unsubscribe facility. Email also needs the "<ADV>" label; instant messaging accounts, in scope since 2020, are exempt from the label.

Source:Singapore Statutes: Spam Control Act 2007 (opens in a new tab)
  • The PDPA governs the contact data itself

The Personal Data Protection Act 2012, enforced by the PDPC, generally requires consent and a notified purpose to collect, use or disclose personal data. That applies to every number, handle and address in Slide, whichever channel it came from. Ask the Slide team where your data is hosted before you sign.

  • All four official languages are in the template editor

Singapore's official languages are Malay, Mandarin, Tamil and English, with English as the working language. Slide's template editor includes English, Chinese (Simplified), Malay and Tamil, so marketing and utility templates can go out in each. The Slide dashboard itself is English only.

  • Address request messages work for +65 numbers

Meta limits WhatsApp address request messages to Indian and Singapore numbers, and Slide follows that limit. Customers on other numbers type their address as an ordinary reply instead.

This is a summary of public rules for orientation, not legal advice. Slide does not certify that any business's messaging complies with local law; check your own obligations with a qualified adviser.

Evidence

What these claims rest on

  • Singapore has been its own WhatsApp pricing market since 1 July 2026, and SGD is a Meta billing currency

  • Singapore's Spam Control Act requires "<ADV>" and an unsubscribe on bulk commercial email

It covers unsolicited commercial messages sent in bulk (over 100 in 24 hours, 1,000 in 30 days or 10,000 in a year). Since 2020 instant messaging accounts are in scope but exempt from the "<ADV>" label. An unsubscribe facility is required.

Pricing

How the cost is made up

Slide bills a workspace created with a Singapore number in US dollars; there is no Singapore dollar billing. Plans and current prices are on the pricing page, and paid plans start with a 14-day trial. Confirm the payment method, for the plan and for wallet top-ups, with the Slide team before you subscribe.

WhatsApp messages are charged by Meta per message, by category, at the Singapore rate for +65 numbers, and Slide takes the charge from your prepaid wallet; when the wallet is empty, sends stop. Since 1 October 2026 service replies are charged too, once a business number has used its 1,000 free service messages for the month. Conversations opened from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad stay free for 72 hours when you reply within 24 hours.

The exact per-message price for your account is shown in the wallet. Email sends use the email credits in your plan, and a sequence pauses when they run out.

Questions

Direct answers

Does Slide have an office or team in Singapore?

No office, phone line or staff in Singapore is listed by Synquic, and this page does not claim one. Synquic, which makes Slide, was founded in India and sells Slide online to businesses in any country. Support is by email, the top plans add a dedicated account manager, and you can book a 30-minute demo. Support hours are not published, so agree how Singapore working hours will be covered before you rely on it.

Which currency will we pay in?

US dollars. Slide sets each workspace's currency when it is created, from the country code of the sign-up phone number: an Indian number gives rupees and every other number, including +65, gives dollars. There is no Singapore dollar billing, even though Meta publishes an SGD rate card for its own WhatsApp charges. Confirm the payment method with the Slide team before you subscribe.

Which languages can our messages use?

All four of Singapore's official languages are available for WhatsApp templates in Slide's editor: English, Chinese (Simplified), Malay and Tamil. Inside the 24-hour window, free-form replies can be in any language. An AI agent answers in Chinese, Malay or Tamil only when its instructions tell it to, and the Slide dashboard is in English.

Do the Do Not Call rules apply to WhatsApp messages?

Yes, to marketing messages. The PDPC's guidelines apply the DNC provisions to marketing sent to Singapore numbers by voice, SMS or data applications such as WhatsApp. Check each number against the DNC registry within 21 days before sending, unless you have clear and unambiguous consent in evidential form. The check is done outside Slide; in Slide, keep the checked or consented numbers in their own tag or segment and send campaigns only to it.

Does the Spam Control Act affect our email and WhatsApp campaigns?

It covers unsolicited commercial messages sent in bulk: more than 100 in 24 hours, 1,000 in 30 days or 10,000 in a year. Bulk commercial email needs the "<ADV>" label and an unsubscribe facility; instant messages have been in scope since 2020 and need the unsubscribe but are exempt from the label. Slide's email campaigns include one-click unsubscribe and sequences an unsubscribe line. On WhatsApp, add opt-out keywords, because Slide's list starts empty.

Can we automate Instagram DMs in Singapore?

Yes. The Do Not Call rules apply to Singapore phone numbers, not Instagram accounts, so Instagram automation follows Meta's rules: replies within 24 hours of the person's last message and one private reply per comment within 7 days. Slide handles comment-to-DM, story replies, live comments, quick replies and AI answers inside that window. It does not send broadcast DMs or anything after the window closes.

Can we ask customers for a delivery address in WhatsApp?

Yes, for +65 numbers. Meta limits WhatsApp address request messages to Indian and Singapore numbers, and Slide follows that limit. Customers on numbers from other countries type the address as an ordinary reply, which a bot can validate and save to a contact field.

Key facts

Key facts: messaging automation in Singapore

Slide fits a Singapore business that wants WhatsApp, Instagram and email on one contact record, with templates in all four official languages, and that already runs DNC checks or keeps consent records before it markets. It is a weaker fit if you need billing in Singapore dollars, a DNC registry check inside the messaging tool, or a confirmed hosting location before you start.
