What messaging automation can do for your business, by outcome
Slide, by Synquic, automates customer messaging on WhatsApp, Instagram and email for eight outcomes: customer service, lead generation, lead qualification, sales follow-up, appointment booking, ecommerce recovery, onboarding and retention. The channels are not interchangeable. WhatsApp can carry every outcome, although booking works only through a connected Cal.com account; Instagram answers conversations a customer starts, within 24 hours; email carries sequences and campaigns with unsubscribe handling built in.

How outcomes map to channels
Three platform rules decide which channel can carry an outcome. On WhatsApp a business may message a customer first, with the customer's opt-in and a template approved by Meta, so it can follow up, remind and re-engage. On Instagram a business may reply only within 24 hours of the person's last message, and Slide sends nothing after that window, so Instagram suits conversations the customer starts. Email can reach anyone who agreed to hear from you, and Slide's sequences and campaigns carry an unsubscribe.
Whatever the channel, the result lands on one contact record per person, matched on phone number first and email second, and the team works every conversation from one shared inbox. Automations start from 41 trigger types, from a WhatsApp keyword or an Instagram comment to a Shopify event, a form, a CRM change, a webhook or a schedule.
Which channel supports which outcome
WhatsApp. Fully supported: customer service, lead generation, lead qualification, sales follow-up, ecommerce recovery for Shopify stores, onboarding and retention. Partly supported: appointment booking, which runs through a connected Cal.com account with no availability lookup and no automatic reminder. In-chat payment requests work for Indian businesses only.
Instagram. Fully supported: lead generation from comments, story replies, live comments and links, and customer service inside the 24-hour window. Partly supported: lead qualification (quick-reply questions, but no routing to a named teammate), sales conversion and booking, both only while the window is open. Not supported: ecommerce recovery messages, onboarding sequences and retention campaigns, because Slide does not start Instagram conversations or message anyone after the window.
Email. Fully supported: sales follow-up (a first email and up to 5 follow-ups that stop on reply), onboarding, retention campaigns with one-click unsubscribe and suppression, and support threads from a connected mailbox. Partly supported: lead generation (forms and popups capture the address), lead qualification (segments and conditions; sequences cannot branch), booking (through the AI agent and Cal.com) and ecommerce recovery (store events can send email, but an automation email step adds no unsubscribe, so marketing belongs in campaigns or sequences).
Market rules sit on top of all of this. Consent, opt-out and sending rules differ by country, and so does the per-message WhatsApp price. The locations pages summarise them market by market, and channel pages go deeper on each channel.
Choose an outcome
- Customer serviceAnswer routine support questions with bots and an AI agent on WhatsApp, Instagram and email, hand the rest to one team inbox, and see what Slide does not do.
- Lead generationCapture leads from Instagram comments and stories, Click-to-WhatsApp ads, QR codes, website chat and lead forms, all onto one contact record in Slide.
- Lead qualification and routingAsk qualifying questions in WhatsApp, save the answers and assign an owner automatically, and see how far Instagram and email can go with qualification in Slide.
- Sales conversionFollow up every open lead on time with WhatsApp campaigns and delayed follow-ups, email sequences that stop on reply, and in-chat payment requests in India.
- Appointment bookingBook appointments from a WhatsApp, Instagram or email chat through a connected Cal.com account, and what Slide does not do: availability lookup and reminders.
- Ecommerce recoveryRecover abandoned Shopify checkouts and send order, cash on delivery and shipping updates on WhatsApp and email with Slide, and the limits that catch stores out.
- Customer onboardingWelcome new customers with timed WhatsApp templates and email sequences that start from a sign-up, form or new contact, and why Instagram cannot run onboarding.
- Customer retentionBring past customers back with segmented WhatsApp campaigns, Shopify win-back and reorder messages, and email campaigns with one-click unsubscribe, using Slide.
What these claims rest on
- A shared team inbox handles WhatsApp, Instagram and email conversations
The inbox supports assignment and notes for WhatsApp; it shows a countdown for the 24-hour window and offers templates when it closes. Email threads support assignment and open or closed states.
- Every channel writes to one contact record, matched on phone first and email second
Tags, segments, custom fields and lifecycle stages on one record per person. Contacts can be imported; there is no contacts export today.
- Automations start from 41 trigger types, including CRM changes, schedules, webhooks and store events
WhatsApp, Instagram, Shopify, HubSpot, Google Sheets and Forms, Meta and Google lead forms, forms, contact created or changed, webhooks and schedules, with conditions, routers, delays and wait-until steps. Wait-until takes a fixed date and time.
- Mirza International runs WhatsApp, Instagram, email and voice on one contact record
Published setup: 18 automations live across six channels; contacts matched on phone first, then email; flows reused across channels.
Direct answers
What can messaging automation actually do for a business?
It handles the messages a business sends again and again, so people only handle the ones that need judgement. With Slide that means answering routine support questions with bots and an AI agent, turning Instagram comments, Click-to-WhatsApp ads and forms into contacts, asking qualifying questions and assigning an owner, following up open leads, recovering abandoned Shopify checkouts and sending order updates, and running welcome and win-back messages. Anything the automation cannot settle is handed to your team in a shared inbox with the answers attached.

Start where your customers already write to you, and check that the outcome can run there. If you need to message customers first, for reminders, order updates or win-back, that means WhatsApp or email, because Instagram only allows replies within 24 hours of the person's last message. If interest starts on your posts and stories, Instagram comment-to-DM is the entry point, and a flow can then move the conversation to WhatsApp, as Newport's published setup does. If you need a timed series with unsubscribe handled, start with email.
Source:Meta: Instagram Messaging API (opens in a new tab)WhatsApp Business setup guideInstagram setup guideCampaigns guideDo we need a separate tool for each channel?
No. WhatsApp, Instagram and email conversations arrive in one shared inbox, every channel writes to one contact record per person, and a single automation can act across channels: a Shopify event, for example, can send both a WhatsApp message and an email. Each channel still has its own connection and its own rules, so you connect them one at a time.
Source:Getting started guideContacts guideShopify guideAutomation builder guideWhat does Slide not do today?
It has no booking calendar of its own, cannot look up free slots and sends no automatic reminder before an appointment; booking runs through Cal.com. It sends no outbound or broadcast Instagram DMs and nothing on Instagram after the 24-hour window. Shopify is the only store platform, and WooCommerce, Zoho, Salesforce, Calendly and Google Calendar are not built. There is no cross-channel attribution report and no contacts export.
Source:Integrations guideIntegrations guideCampaigns guideContacts guideDo the rules change from country to country?
Yes. WhatsApp charges per message at a rate set by the category of message and the recipient's country, and every business must have a person's opt-in before messaging them first. Marketing consent, unsubscribe and data protection rules are set by each country's own law. Slide supplies mechanics such as unsubscribe, suppression and opt-out blocking, but it does not make any business compliant; the locations pages summarise each market's rules.

There are Free, Starter, Pro and Enterprise plans on the pricing page, and paid plans start with a 14-day trial; AI steps depend on the plan. Workspaces are billed in Indian rupees if they were created with an Indian number and in US dollars otherwise. WhatsApp usage is charged per message by Meta and drawn from a prepaid wallet, including service replies since 1 October 2026 after the first 1,000 each month per number. Email sends draw on the plan's email credits.

Slide fits a business that wants WhatsApp, Instagram and email in one workspace, with one contact record and one inbox, and whose goals include messaging customers first on WhatsApp or by email. It is a weaker fit if the main need is something it does not build today: a booking calendar with availability and reminders, a ticketing desk with SLAs, outbound Instagram messages, a store platform other than Shopify, or a CRM other than HubSpot.
