Email campaigns and sequences for businesses in Singapore
Slide, by Synquic, lets a business in Singapore send email campaigns to segments and automated sequences of up to six emails from its own domain, with one-click unsubscribe, bounce suppression and replies landing in a shared inbox. When commercial email is unsolicited and sent in bulk, Singapore's Spam Control Act requires an unsubscribe facility and "<ADV>" in the subject line. Slide's campaigns and sequences carry the unsubscribe; the subject line, label included, is yours to write.

The buyer and the problem
Marketing and sales teams at Singapore businesses that email customers, subscribers or business contacts, from newsletters and promotions to invitation sequences, and want sending, unsubscribes and replies handled in one place.
Unsolicited commercial email sent in bulk to Singapore recipients (over 100 in 24 hours) carries specific obligations, and one list can mix people who asked to hear from you with people who never did. The tool has to make the unsubscribe automatic, stop sending to addresses that bounce or complain, and keep replies out of one person's private mailbox.
Supported capabilities, mapped to the product
Campaigns to segments, with A/B tests
Send to a segment of contacts and test subject lines, content, sender name or preview text, with opens and clicks tracked for each campaign.
Source:Campaigns guideSequences that stop when someone replies
A first email and up to 5 threaded follow-ups, spaced from 1 hour to 60 days apart. With a mailbox connected, a reply takes that person out of the sequence. Sequences follow a single path, with no branching.
Source:Campaigns guideUnsubscribe and suppression built in
Campaign emails carry one-click unsubscribe and sequence emails an unsubscribe line by default. Unsubscribed addresses are skipped; hard bounces and spam complaints are suppressed, soft bounces are not.
Your own domain as the sender
Mail goes out from your domain once its DNS records are verified, so recipients see your business as the sender.
Source:Email channel setup guideSource and purpose on the contact record
Custom fields and tags on each contact can hold where an address came from and what the person agreed to, and segments can then include only the people a mailing is meant for.
Source:Contacts guideReplies in a shared inbox
Connect the mailbox and replies arrive in Slide's inbox, where they can be assigned and closed. The mailbox is read by polling, so replies appear after a short delay rather than instantly.
An invitation sequence for a trade conference
An events company in Singapore invites procurement managers to a one-day conference. Some registered interest at last year's event; others are business contacts who never asked to hear from it. This is how the invitation runs.
- Trigger
The list is split before anything is sent
The team imports the list with a source column and tags each contact "asked last year" or "no request". Two segments follow from those tags.
- Action
One invitation, two subject lines
Both segments get the same invitation from the company's own domain, with its name as the sender and an unsubscribe line in the footer. The "no request" segment is well over 100 addresses and the company, on its adviser's view, treats that mail as unsolicited, so its subject line starts with "<ADV>".
- Customer interaction
Follow-ups stop for anyone who answers
The sequence sends two follow-ups a week apart. A manager who replies asking about group rates drops out of the sequence, and one who clicks unsubscribe is skipped by every later step and campaign.
- Human handoff
Sales picks up the replies
Replies land in the shared inbox, where the sales lead assigns each to a teammate. The group-rate question is answered by a person with the whole thread in view.
- Exception
When the email credits run out
Halfway through, the plan's email credits run out. The sequence pauses with a "no email credits" status instead of failing silently; the team adds credits and the sequence carries on.
- Recorded outcome
What the team can show afterwards
Sequence statistics record the sends, replies and unsubscribes, hard bounces are suppressed for future mailings, and each contact still carries the source tag that decided whether "<ADV>" was used.

What you need, and the launch sequence
Requirements
- A verified sending domain
Add your domain in Slide, publish the DNS records it shows, then verify it before the first send.
Source:Email channel setup guide - A connected mailbox for replies
Needed if replies should stop sequences and arrive in the shared inbox.
Source:Campaigns guideEmail channel setup guide - A record of where each address came from
Tag or field each contact by source and consent before the first send, so segments can separate people who asked from people who did not. Slide has no double opt-in.

Launch sequence
Verify the sending domain and connect the reply mailbox (email channel setup guide).
Import the list with a source column and turn the sources into tags or fields (contacts guide).
Build one segment per consent situation and decide, for each, whether the "<ADV>" label applies.
Write the campaign or sequence with the unsubscribe link in the footer, and check every template's footer before sending (campaigns guide).
Keep promotional mail out of automation "send email" steps, which add no unsubscribe link; use them for receipts and confirmations.
Send a test to colleagues, check the subject line and the unsubscribe link, then schedule.
What is specific to Singapore
When the Spam Control Act applies
The Act covers unsolicited commercial electronic messages sent in bulk: more than 100 in 24 hours, 1,000 in 30 days or 10,000 in a year. Mail to people who asked for it and mail to addresses that never did fall on different sides of that line, so split the list by how each address was obtained.
Source:Singapore Statutes: Spam Control Act 2007 (opens in a new tab)The "<ADV>" label is yours to add
Unsolicited bulk commercial email must carry "<ADV>" in the subject line. Slide sends the subject you write, with merge fields filled in, so type the label into the subjects of the segments it applies to. Instant messages are in scope of the Act but exempt from the label.
Source:Singapore Statutes: Spam Control Act 2007 (opens in a new tab)An unsubscribe facility in every bulk email
The Act requires a working unsubscribe. Slide's campaigns and sequences include one and skip addresses that used it. The automation "send email" step includes no unsubscribe and ignores the list, so it is for transactional mail only.
Source:Singapore Statutes: Spam Control Act 2007 (opens in a new tab)Campaigns guideCampaigns guideConsent and purpose under the PDPA
Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act generally requires consent and a notified purpose to collect and use personal data, email addresses included. Keep the source and purpose on each contact, and ask the Slide team where data is hosted before you sign.
Source:Singapore Statutes: PDPA 2012 (opens in a new tab)Contacts guideIf the journey also uses WhatsApp
The Do Not Call rules cover marketing sent to Singapore phone numbers, including over WhatsApp. If a campaign has a WhatsApp leg, check those numbers against the registry within 21 days of sending unless you hold clear, documented consent.

What these claims rest on
- Singapore's Spam Control Act requires "<ADV>" and an unsubscribe on bulk commercial email
It covers unsolicited commercial messages sent in bulk (over 100 in 24 hours, 1,000 in 30 days or 10,000 in a year). Since 2020 instant messaging accounts are in scope but exempt from the "<ADV>" label. An unsubscribe facility is required.
Official sourceChecked 11 October 2026Singapore Statutes: Spam Control Act 2007 (opens in a new tab) - Email campaigns support segments, A/B tests, open and click tracking, one-click unsubscribe and bounce suppression
A/B tests on subject, content, sender name or preview text; one-click unsubscribe; hard bounces and complaints are suppressed. Soft bounces are not suppressed and there is no list cleaning.
- Email sequences send a first email and up to 5 follow-ups that stop when the person replies
Follow-ups 1 hour to 60 days apart, threaded, stopped on reply (needs a connected mailbox). Each email carries an unsubscribe line by default, and unsubscribed, suppressed or bounced addresses are skipped. Sequences are single-path.
- Email sends from the business's own authenticated domain or connected mailbox
Add the sending domain and its DNS records, then verify. A mailbox can be connected so replies arrive in the inbox (read by polling, not in real time). Automation emails use the organisation's own mail connection.
- Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 is enforced by the PDPC
Collection, use and disclosure of personal data generally need consent and a notified purpose.
How the cost is made up
Email in Slide draws on the email credits that come with your plan. You can add credits, and a sequence that runs out pauses with a clear status rather than dropping emails. The pricing page shows current plans and what each includes; paid plans start with a 14-day trial.
A workspace created with a Singapore number is billed in US dollars. Slide does not bill in Singapore dollars, so confirm the payment method with the Slide team before you subscribe.
WhatsApp messages added to the same journey are a separate cost, charged per message by Meta on its Singapore rate line and drawn from Slide's prepaid wallet.
When this fits, and what it does not do
A good fit when
- Newsletters and promotions to subscribers who signed up through your site or store.
- Invitation or outreach sequences where a reply should stop the follow-ups.
- A team that wants replies in one shared inbox.
Needs a person when
- Replies asking for quotes, group rates or anything negotiated.
- Deciding which segments count as unsolicited and need "<ADV>".
- Requests to see or delete personal data.
Not established by this page
- Deliverability or open rates: Slide publishes no measured outcomes.
- List cleaning before a send, which Slide does not do.
- Where data is hosted. Ask the Slide team before you sign.
Direct answers
Do we need "<ADV>" in our subject lines?
Only for unsolicited commercial email sent in bulk, meaning more than 100 messages in 24 hours, 1,000 in 30 days or 10,000 in a year. Email to people who asked to receive it is a different case. Add "<ADV>" yourself to the subjects of the campaigns or sequences that need it, and keep a source tag on contacts so you know which segments those are.
Source:Singapore Statutes: Spam Control Act 2007 (opens in a new tab)Contacts guideDoes every email from Slide include an unsubscribe link?
Campaigns and sequences do. Campaign emails carry one-click unsubscribe, sequence emails carry an unsubscribe line unless you switch it off, and both skip addresses that have unsubscribed. Emails sent by an automation "send email" step include no unsubscribe and do not check the list, so keep that step for receipts, confirmations and other transactional mail.
Source:Campaigns guideCampaigns guideHow does the PDPA affect our email list?
The PDPA generally requires consent and a notified purpose before personal data, including an email address, is collected and used. In Slide, record each contact's source and what they agreed to in a field or tag, and build campaign segments from those. Slide has no double opt-in, so the wording on your sign-up form carries the consent.
Source:Singapore Statutes: PDPA 2012 (opens in a new tab)Contacts guideAutomation builder guideCan we write emails in Chinese, Malay or Tamil?
Yes. Email content is whatever you write, so a campaign or sequence can be in any of Singapore's four official languages, or in several versions sent to different segments. The Slide dashboard itself is in English.
Source:Constitution of Singapore, Article 153A (opens in a new tab)What happens to addresses that bounce or complain?
Hard bounces and spam complaints are suppressed, so later sends skip those addresses. Soft bounces are not suppressed, and Slide does not clean lists before sending, so remove addresses you know are stale before the first mailing.
Source:Campaigns guideWho reads the replies?
Connect the mailbox you send from and replies arrive in Slide's shared inbox, where a teammate can be assigned and the thread closed. A reply also takes that person out of their sequence. The mailbox is read by polling, so expect a short delay, and an AI agent can answer routine email replies and hand the rest to the team.
Source:Email channel setup guideGetting started guideCampaigns guideAutomation builder guideDo the Do Not Call rules apply to our emails?
The Do Not Call provisions cover marketing sent to Singapore telephone numbers, by voice, text or messaging apps such as WhatsApp; commercial email is dealt with by the Spam Control Act. If the same journey also sends WhatsApp messages, check those numbers against the registry within 21 days of sending unless you hold clear, documented consent.
Source:PDPC: Advisory guidelines on the DNC provisions (opens in a new tab)Singapore Statutes: Spam Control Act 2007 (opens in a new tab)What does it cost?
The Slide plan, which includes email credits, billed in US dollars for a workspace created with a Singapore number. Add credits if you send more; sequences pause when credits run out. Current plans are on the pricing page with a 14-day trial on paid plans, and you should confirm the payment method with the Slide team before subscribing.

Slide fits a Singapore business that sends newsletters, promotions or invitation sequences from its own domain and wants unsubscribes, bounce suppression and replies handled for it, with segments that keep consented and unsolicited audiences apart. It is a weaker fit if you need list cleaning, double opt-in, branching sequences or a contacts export; none of those is built today.
