Messaging automation for businesses in Saudi Arabia

Slide, by Synquic, lets a business selling in Saudi Arabia run WhatsApp bots, AI agents and campaigns, and Instagram comment and DM automation, from one workspace and one contact record. Messages to +966 numbers are priced on Meta's Saudi Arabia line, which has a SAR rate card, while Slide bills the workspace in US dollars. The Personal Data Protection Law has been fully enforceable since 14 September 2024, with its own regulation on transferring data outside the Kingdom, and this site has not yet verified the Saudi rules specific to marketing email.

Facts on this page were last reviewed on 11 October 2026. See the key facts and sources.

Who it is for

The buyer and the problem

Businesses selling to customers in Saudi Arabia, from inside the Kingdom or from abroad, that handle sales and support on WhatsApp and Instagram and want to automate the routine part.

A Saudi rollout raises questions a global feature list skips: what a message to a +966 number costs and why Meta shows riyal prices when Slide bills in dollars, whether one-time passwords sent from another country cost more, what the PDPL and its transfer regulation mean for a contact list held on a platform, and which rules cover promotional messages.

WhatsApp in Saudi Arabia

Meta prices messages to +966 numbers on its Saudi Arabia line and publishes a rate card in SAR. That does not change Slide's billing: the plan is in US dollars and per-message charges come from the prepaid wallet, where the exact price for your account is shown.

Businesses outside the Kingdom need to watch one rate in particular. When a business based abroad sends authentication templates, such as one-time passwords, to Saudi numbers at high volume (750,000 outside the service window in a rolling 30 days), Meta charges a higher authentication-international rate. Cost sign-in and verification flows for Saudi customers on that rate if they are sent from abroad.

Templates can be written in Arabic, the Kingdom's official language, or in English, and Meta approves each one before it can be sent. Inside the 24-hour window you and your customers can write in any language. The AI agent answers in Arabic only when its instructions say so. Slide includes WhatsApp business calling, but how calls behave for Saudi consumers has not been verified for this page, so it is not offered here.

The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) publishes Regulations for Curbing Spam Messages and Calls (Decision 493/1444, 2022). Their consent and sending-hour details were not read in full for this site and are not summarised here; read them, or ask your adviser, before running promotional campaigns. Market detail is on WhatsApp automation in Saudi Arabia.

Instagram in Saudi Arabia

No Saudi rule specific to Instagram messages was verified, so Instagram in Saudi Arabia is answered here rather than on its own page. The PDPL covers the people who become contacts through Instagram, as it does on every channel.

What Slide does on Instagram: reply to comments on chosen posts with a public reply and one private DM within Meta's 7-day limit, answer DMs, story replies and live comments with keyword rules or an AI agent, ask quick-reply questions, and capture an email address into the contact. What it does not do: story-mention triggers, broadcasts, or any message after the 24-hour window.

One route Slide supports is moving a buyer from an Instagram comment into a WhatsApp conversation, where templates can follow up later; the published Newport case study describes that workflow, though it says nothing about Saudi customers. See Instagram automation for setup.

Email in Saudi Arabia

This site has not verified the Saudi rules that apply specifically to marketing email. What the PDPL's Article 25 and the CST spam regulations require of a promotional email could not be read from the official texts, so there is no Saudi email automation page yet, and this section does not tell you what those rules demand.

What is verified is how Slide handles email anywhere. You send from your own authenticated domain; campaigns add a one-click unsubscribe and suppress hard bounces and complaints; sequences carry an unsubscribe line and skip unsubscribed, suppressed and bounced addresses. The automation "send email" step does neither, so it suits receipts and confirmations only. Check the Saudi rules with an adviser before you send marketing email to Saudi addresses; email automation covers the setup.

Pricing

How the cost is made up

Slide charges for the plan, not for the market: a workspace created with a Saudi or other non-Indian number pays in US dollars. Plans and prices are on the pricing page, every paid plan starts with a 14-day trial, and the Slide team should confirm the payment method before you subscribe.

Meta charges each WhatsApp message to a +966 number at the Saudi Arabia rate for its category, and Slide takes it from your prepaid wallet. Marketing, utility and authentication templates are priced differently, and since 1 October 2026 service replies beyond the first 1,000 each month per number are charged at the utility rate. Authentication templates sent at high volume from abroad may fall under the higher authentication-international rate.

Fit and limits

When this fits, and what it does not do

A good fit when

  • Sales and support conversations on WhatsApp and Instagram, in Arabic or English.
  • Order updates and reminders sent as approved Arabic templates.
  • Instagram interest you want to move into a WhatsApp conversation.

Needs a person when

  • Marketing email to Saudi addresses, until you have checked the PDPL and CST rules with an adviser.
  • Arabic conversations the AI agent was not instructed to handle.
  • Complaints, refunds and anything that needs judgement.

Not established by this page

  • What the PDPL's Article 25 and the CST spam regulations require of promotional messages.
  • Whether WhatsApp business calls connect to Saudi consumers.
  • Where customer data is hosted, which matters under the transfer regulation. Ask the Slide team before you sign.
Questions

Direct answers

What does a WhatsApp message to a Saudi number cost through Slide?

Meta prices it on the Saudi Arabia line according to its category, marketing, utility or authentication, and Slide draws the charge from your wallet, which shows the exact per-message price for your account. Since 1 October 2026 service replies are charged too, after the first 1,000 each month per business number. A conversation that starts from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad or a Page button is free for 72 hours when you reply within 24 hours. No rate is quoted here because rates change.

We send one-time passwords to Saudi customers from outside the Kingdom. Does that change the price?

It can. Saudi Arabia is one of the markets where Meta applies an authentication-international rate, which is higher, to businesses based outside the country that send authentication templates at high volume: 750,000 outside the service window in a rolling 30 days. Below that volume, or if your business is in Saudi Arabia, the ordinary Saudi authentication rate applies.

Which currency will we pay in?

In US dollars. Meta lists Saudi rates in riyals as well as dollars, but Slide has two billing currencies only, rupees for workspaces created with an Indian number and dollars for the rest, and a Saudi workspace falls in the second. Before subscribing, check with the Slide team which payment methods will work for you.

What does the PDPL mean for our contact list?

The Personal Data Protection Law has been fully enforceable since 14 September 2024, and SDAIA also publishes an Implementing Regulation and a separate Regulation on transferring personal data outside the Kingdom. A messaging platform holds names, numbers and conversations, so ask the Slide team where your data is hosted before you sign. Slide does not certify that any setup meets the PDPL; it gives you one contact record per person with fields for recording consent, and WhatsApp opt-out keywords (empty by default) that block a contact everywhere.

Can we send marketing email to customers in Saudi Arabia with Slide?

The product can send it, but this site has not verified the Saudi rules for marketing email, namely what the PDPL's Article 25 and the CST spam regulations require, so there is no Saudi email page and no summary here. If you go ahead after checking with an adviser, use campaigns or sequences, which add an unsubscribe and skip unsubscribed and suppressed addresses. Do not use the automation "send email" step for promotions, because it adds no unsubscribe link.

Do the CST spam regulations apply to WhatsApp?

The CST's Regulations for Curbing Spam Messages and Calls (Decision 493/1444) exist, but their consent and sending-hour details were not read in full for this site, so it does not say whether or how they reach WhatsApp. Meta's own policy applies either way: a person must opt in before you message them first, and every opt-out must be honoured.

Which languages can our messages use?

Arabic, the official language of the Kingdom, and English are both in Slide's template editor, so promotional and utility templates can go out in either once Meta approves them. Replies typed inside the 24-hour window can be in any language. For Arabic answers from the AI agent, put that in its instructions; it does not switch by itself. The dashboard is in English, with no right-to-left layout.

Does Slide have an office or team in Saudi Arabia?

No local office, team or Saudi phone number is claimed. You reach Synquic through sales@synquic.com and a bookable 30-minute demo call, and support on plans is by email, with an account manager on the top tiers. Synquic was founded in India and publishes no support hours or support languages.

Key facts

Key facts: messaging automation in Saudi Arabia

Slide is a reasonable fit for a business that serves Saudi customers on WhatsApp and Instagram and wants Arabic templates, an AI agent and one contact record, paid for in US dollars. Cost one-time-password flows on the authentication-international rate if you send from abroad, and settle where data is hosted before you sign, because the PDPL has its own transfer regulation. It is a weaker fit if you need marketing email to Saudi addresses with the local rules already worked out, an Arabic dashboard, riyal billing or WhatsApp calling.
