Messaging automation for businesses in Dubai
Slide, by Synquic, works in Dubai as it does elsewhere in the UAE: WhatsApp messages to +971 numbers are priced on Meta's UAE line, the workspace is billed in US dollars, and federal UAE law applies. The point that is specific to Dubai is the DIFC. A business registered in the Dubai International Financial Centre follows the DIFC Data Protection Law, which requires notifying the Commissioner of Data Protection and gives people a right to object to direct marketing at any time.

The buyer and the problem
Businesses based in Dubai, on the mainland, in the DIFC or in another free zone, that message customers on WhatsApp, Instagram or email and want to know whether being in Dubai changes anything.
Most advice labelled "Dubai" is really about the UAE, and the one difference that matters, which data protection law covers a business, depends on where the business is registered. A DIFC firm that copies a mainland setup can miss its notification duty and the way objections to marketing have to be handled on every channel it uses.
What is the same as the rest of the UAE
Dubai is one of the seven emirates, and there is no Dubai-specific WhatsApp market: a message to a +971 number is priced the same whether the customer is in Dubai or anywhere else in the country. A mainland Dubai business is covered by the federal PDPL like any other UAE business.
The answers on cost, calling, SMS rules and languages are therefore on the UAE page, and setup with a full workflow for WhatsApp is on WhatsApp automation in the UAE. This page does not repeat them; it covers what a DIFC registration changes.
If your business is registered in the DIFC
The Dubai International Financial Centre has its own Data Protection Law (DIFC Law No. 5 of 2020), supervised by the DIFC Commissioner of Data Protection. A DIFC entity notifies the Commissioner when it processes personal data, and the names, numbers and conversations a messaging platform holds are personal data. Slide does not file or evidence that notification for you.
The law also gives people a right to object to direct marketing at any time. On WhatsApp, Slide blocks a contact who sends an opt-out keyword and skips blocked contacts on every channel, but the keyword list starts empty, so add the words your customers will actually use, in Arabic and English, before the first campaign. In email, campaigns and sequences carry an unsubscribe and skip unsubscribed addresses; the automation "send email" step does neither, so it is not the place for marketing.
An objection can also arrive in ordinary words, in a reply to a team member or by email. Those depend on someone acting on them: record the objection on the contact with a tag or custom field and keep that contact out of marketing sends from then on.
WhatsApp, Instagram and email in Dubai
WhatsApp in Dubai follows the UAE answer in full: the UAE price line, US dollar billing in Slide, no promise of business calling under TDRA's VoIP rules, and templates in Arabic or English.
Instagram works as it does everywhere: replies only within 24 hours of the person's last message, one private reply per comment within 7 days, and no broadcasts from Slide. The DIFC right to object is not tied to one channel, so a DIFC business should act on a "stop" sent by Instagram DM as it would on WhatsApp. Slide's opt-out keyword list is a WhatsApp setting, so on Instagram that is a step for the team.
No Dubai-specific email rule was verified for this page: the PDPL or, for DIFC entities, the DIFC law covers the addresses, and marketing goes out as campaigns or sequences so every message carries an unsubscribe. The Instagram automation and email automation pages cover setup.
What is specific to Dubai
Dubai is an emirate, not a separate market
Federal UAE law applies in Dubai, and Meta prices messages to every +971 number on the UAE line, so cost and federal rules match the rest of the country.

Under the DIFC law an objection to direct marketing can come at any moment. In Slide, WhatsApp opt-out keywords block the contact on every channel once you have added them; the list is empty by default.

Outside free zones with their own data law, Federal Decree-Law 45 of 2021 applies, with its consent requirement and conditions for transferring data abroad.

What these claims rest on
- Dubai is one of the seven emirates of the UAE, and federal UAE law applies there
There is no Dubai-specific WhatsApp market: messages to +971 numbers are priced on the UAE line.
- DIFC has its own Data Protection Law (DIFC Law No. 5 of 2020), supervised by its Commissioner of Data Protection
DIFC entities notify the Commissioner when they process personal data, and people have a right to object to direct marketing at any time.
- The UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law 45 of 2021) requires consent for processing, with exceptions
In force since 2 January 2022 and overseen by the UAE Data Office. It sets conditions for transferring data abroad. Free zones with their own data law, such as DIFC and ADGM, are covered by those laws.

How the cost is made up
Being in Dubai changes nothing about cost. A workspace created with a +971 number pays for its Slide plan in US dollars; the pricing page lists the plans, paid plans have a 14-day trial, and the payment method should be confirmed with the Slide team before you subscribe.
WhatsApp messages to Dubai numbers are charged by Meta at the UAE rate, per message, from the Slide wallet, and since 1 October 2026 service replies count too once a number passes the 1,000 free each month. The exact rate for your account is in the wallet.
When this fits, and what it does not do
A good fit when
- A Dubai business, mainland or DIFC, that wants WhatsApp, Instagram and email in one inbox.
- A DIFC firm that wants a WhatsApp opt-out to stop marketing on every channel at once.
- Customers who write in Arabic or English.
Needs a person when
- An objection to marketing that arrives in free text, on Instagram or by email rather than as a keyword.
- The notification to the DIFC Commissioner, which Slide does not file.
- Complaints and anything that needs judgement.
Not established by this page
- Which data law covers a business in a Dubai free zone other than the DIFC.
- Where customer data is hosted. Ask the Slide team before you sign.
- Whether WhatsApp business calls connect to customers in Dubai.
Direct answers
Is WhatsApp priced differently for customers in Dubai?
No. Dubai is one of the seven emirates, and Meta prices messages to every +971 number on the same UAE line, so a customer in Dubai costs the same per message as one elsewhere in the country. The details, including the AED rate card, US dollar billing in Slide and service-reply charges since 1 October 2026, are on the UAE page.
Source:UAE government portal: Fact sheet (opens in a new tab)Meta: WhatsApp pricing (opens in a new tab)Our company is registered in the DIFC. Which data protection law applies?
The DIFC Data Protection Law (DIFC Law No. 5 of 2020), supervised by the DIFC Commissioner of Data Protection, rather than the federal PDPL, which leaves free zones with their own data law to those laws. Under it a DIFC entity notifies the Commissioner when it processes personal data, and people may object to direct marketing at any time. A mainland Dubai company follows the federal PDPL instead.
Source:DIFC: Commissioner of Data Protection (opens in a new tab)UAE government portal: Data protection laws (opens in a new tab)How do we honour a customer's objection to direct marketing?
Set it up per channel. On WhatsApp, add opt-out keywords in Arabic and English, because the list starts empty; a contact who sends one is blocked and skipped on every channel. For email, send marketing only as campaigns or sequences, which carry an unsubscribe and skip unsubscribed addresses, since the automation email step does not. Objections that arrive on Instagram or in ordinary words need the team to record them on the contact and keep it out of marketing sends.

Not in Dubai, and not elsewhere in the UAE. Synquic was founded in India and does not claim a local office, team or phone number in Dubai. You reach it by email at sales@synquic.com or by booking a 30-minute demo; plans include email support and the top tiers a dedicated account manager, and no support hours are published.
Source:About SynquicSlide pricingWhich currency will we pay in?
US dollars, as for any workspace created with a non-Indian phone number; Slide has no dirham billing. Confirm the payment method with the Slide team before you subscribe, because acceptance of cards issued outside India is not stated on this page.
Source:Billing and wallet guideWhich languages can our messages use?
Arabic, the UAE's official language, and English are both in Slide's template editor, and free-form replies inside the 24-hour window can be in any language. An AI agent switches to Arabic only when its instructions tell it to. The dashboard your team uses is in English.
Source:UAE government portal: Fact sheet (opens in a new tab)Automation builder guideWhy is there no separate WhatsApp, Instagram or email page for Dubai?
Because nothing verified about those channels changes in Dubai. WhatsApp pricing and federal law are the UAE's, so WhatsApp in Dubai is covered by WhatsApp automation in the UAE; Instagram and email follow Meta's rules and the same data law as the rest of the UAE. The one Dubai-specific point, the DIFC law, applies to every channel alike, so it sits on this page.

For a Dubai business the decision is the same as for the rest of the UAE, with one extra check if you are registered in the DIFC: make sure objections to marketing are captured on every channel you use. Slide supports that on WhatsApp (opt-out keywords that block the contact everywhere, once you add them) and in email campaigns and sequences (unsubscribe and suppression). It is a weaker fit if you need free-text objections handled without a person, or need the platform to file or evidence your DIFC notification.
