WhatsApp lead follow-up for businesses in Singapore

Slide, by Synquic, lets a business in Singapore follow up leads on WhatsApp: answer the enquiry while the 24-hour window is open, ask in the chat whether the person wants follow-up messages and record that answer on the contact, then send approved templates days later only to the people who said yes. Slide does not check the Do Not Call registry, so a marketing template to a +65 number without documented consent needs your own registry check within 21 days. Messages are priced on Meta's Singapore rate line, and the workspace is billed in US dollars.

Who it is for

The buyer and the problem

Sales teams at Singapore businesses that receive enquiries through a website chat button, a QR code in a showroom or at an event, or a Click-to-WhatsApp ad, and close the sale over several days.

The first reply is easy because the customer has just written. The follow-up a week later is where the rules apply: a marketing message to a Singapore number needs consent you can show or a Do Not Call check, and without a record of who agreed to what, a team cannot tell which leads it may contact again. Without that record, the cautious choice is not to follow up at all, and the lead goes cold.

What Slide does

Supported capabilities, mapped to the product

  • Each enquiry is labelled with where it started

A QR code or link can start its own flow, and the website chat button, Click-to-WhatsApp ads (captured with their source) and WhatsApp forms each bring leads in, so the consent record can say where it was given.

  • A consent question with a stored answer

Buttons ask whether the lead wants follow-up messages. The answer and its source are written to contact fields and a tag, and the conversation shows when it was given. Whether that counts as clear and unambiguous consent in evidential form is for your adviser, and contacts cannot be exported, so keep a copy outside Slide.

  • Follow-ups sent only to the consented segment

Campaigns send approved templates to a tag or segment on a schedule, with delayed follow-up steps. Unsubscribed and blocked contacts are skipped automatically.

  • Address requests for Singapore numbers

Meta's address request message, which collects a delivery or visit address in a form inside WhatsApp, works for Singapore and Indian numbers only, and Slide follows that limit.

  • A salesperson takes over with the details

A handoff step leaves the lead in the shared inbox with every answer collected so far and emails the sales team. The inbox shows how long the 24-hour window has left.

  • Templates in Singapore's four official languages

Slide's template editor includes English, Chinese (Simplified), Malay and Tamil, so a follow-up can match the language the lead used.

Example workflow, illustrative

A made-to-measure blinds enquiry, from a showroom QR code to a follow-up a week later

A company that sells and installs made-to-measure blinds puts a WhatsApp QR code by its fabric samples and a chat button on its website. This is one lead.

  1. Trigger

The enquiry starts from the showroom QR code

A visitor scans the code next to the samples. The pre-filled message starts a flow and records the lead source as "Showroom QR", which later becomes part of the consent record.

  2. Customer interaction

Questions answered while the window is open

The customer has just written, so the bot can reply freely: which rooms, rough window sizes, and whether a measuring visit is wanted. For the visit, it sends WhatsApp's address form, which works for Singapore numbers, and saves the answers to contact fields.

  3. Qualification

    Consent asked in plain words

Before closing, the bot asks: "May we send you WhatsApp messages about your quote and our offers?" with "Yes, that's fine" and "No, thanks". A yes writes consent and source to the contact and adds a "Follow-up OK" tag; a no adds "No marketing".

  4. Human handoff

    A salesperson prepares the quote

A handoff step puts the lead in the inbox with the rooms, sizes and address, and emails the sales team. A salesperson sends the quote in the chat while the window is still open and agrees a visit time by hand.

  5. Action

A follow-up a week later, to consented leads only

The window has closed. Each Monday the team schedules a campaign of an approved marketing template, which names the company and says how to stop, to leads tagged "Follow-up OK" and "Quote sent", with "Book my visit" and "Not now" buttons. Leads without the tag are left out, unless the team has checked their numbers against the DNC registry within the last 21 days.

  6. Exception

    If the lead says stop

A lead replies "STOP". The team added that word to the opt-out list, so Slide blocks the contact and every channel skips it. A refusal in other words, such as "please don't message me", lands in the inbox and a salesperson records it on the contact.

  7. Recorded outcome

    Consent and result kept together

The contact ends as a customer, a lost lead or still open, and its consent fields stay on the record: where and how the lead agreed, with the conversation showing when. That record is what the team relies on if it is ever asked why a message was sent.

An illustration of how the workflow runs, not a customer case study. Names, numbers and messages are examples.

Setup

What you need, and the launch sequence

Requirements

  • A verified Meta business and an eligible number

A Meta business portfolio, business verification before sending at scale (allow several business days), and a number that is not registered on the WhatsApp consumer or Business app.

  • Fields to hold the consent record

Create contact fields for consent status and consent source before you build the flow, so every yes is stored the same way. The conversation's own timestamp shows when each answer was given.

  • Your own Do Not Call process

Slide does not check the DNC registry. If you will send marketing templates to Singapore numbers without clear documented consent, check those numbers against the registry within 21 days of sending, outside Slide.

  • Approved templates that offer a way to stop

Follow-ups after the window are templates approved by Meta. Each should identify your business and say how to unsubscribe, and the words people will use must be added to the opt-out keyword list, which starts empty.

  • A funded wallet and a confirmed payment method

Per-message charges are drawn from a prepaid wallet, and sends stop when it is empty. The workspace is billed in US dollars, so confirm the payment method with the Slide team first.

Launch sequence

  1. Start Meta business verification and connect your number (setup guide).

  2. Create the consent fields and tags in contacts.

  3. Build the enquiry flow, with the address request and the consent question, in the automation builder, ending in a handoff to sales.

  4. Generate one QR code or link per source (showroom, event, website, ad) so each consent record names where it was given.

  5. Write follow-up templates that name the business and explain how to stop, submit them in the languages your leads use, and add opt-out keywords.

  6. Point campaigns at the consented segment only, agree who runs DNC checks for any number outside it, and go live.

Local considerations

What is specific to following up leads in Singapore

  • The Do Not Call rules cover WhatsApp marketing

The PDPC's guidelines apply the DNC provisions to marketing messages sent to Singapore numbers by voice, SMS or data applications such as WhatsApp. Numbers must be checked against the DNC registry within 21 days of sending, unless the person has given clear and unambiguous consent in evidential form.

Source:PDPC: Advisory guidelines on the DNC provisions (opens in a new tab)
  • Bulk follow-ups fall under the Spam Control Act

The Act covers unsolicited commercial messages sent in bulk (over 100 in 24 hours, 1,000 in 30 days or 10,000 in a year). Instant messaging accounts have been in scope since 2020; they are exempt from the "<ADV>" label that email needs, but an unsubscribe facility is still required.

Source:Singapore Statutes: Spam Control Act 2007 (opens in a new tab)
  • PDPA consent and a stated purpose

Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012, collecting and using a lead's details generally needs consent and a purpose you have told them. The consent question in the chat is a natural place to say what follow-ups they will receive.

Source:Singapore Statutes: PDPA 2012 (opens in a new tab)
  • All four official languages are in the template editor

Singapore's official languages are Malay, Mandarin, Tamil and English. Slide's editor offers English, Chinese (Simplified), Malay and Tamil, so a follow-up template can be approved in each.

Source:Constitution of Singapore, Article 153A (opens in a new tab)
  • A Singapore rate line since 1 July 2026

Messages to +65 numbers left Meta's Rest of Asia Pacific group on 1 July 2026 and now have their own rate line. Meta publishes an SGD rate card, but a Slide workspace outside India is billed in US dollars.

Evidence

What these claims rest on

  • Singapore's Do Not Call rules cover marketing sent to Singapore numbers over WhatsApp

The DNC provisions apply to marketing messages sent to Singapore numbers by voice, SMS or data applications such as WhatsApp. Numbers must be checked against the DNC registry within 21 days unless there is clear and unambiguous consent in evidential form.

  • Singapore's Spam Control Act requires "<ADV>" and an unsubscribe on bulk commercial email

It covers unsolicited commercial messages sent in bulk (over 100 in 24 hours, 1,000 in 30 days or 10,000 in a year). Since 2020 instant messaging accounts are in scope but exempt from the "<ADV>" label. An unsubscribe facility is required.

Pricing

How the cost is made up

The Slide plan is billed in US dollars for a workspace created with a Singapore number. Plans and current prices are on the pricing page, and paid plans start with a 14-day trial. Confirm the payment method with the Slide team before you subscribe.

Meta charges per message and draws it from your Slide wallet. Follow-up templates to +65 numbers are charged when delivered, at the rate for their category on the Singapore line. When a lead writes back, your replies are service messages, charged since 1 October 2026 after the first 1,000 each month per business number. A lead that comes from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad is free for 72 hours if you reply within 24 hours, which covers the first exchange.

Cost follows the number of enquiries, how many agree to follow-ups, and how many templates each consented lead receives. Any Do Not Call registry checks are done outside Slide. The exact per-message price for your account is shown in the wallet.

Fit and limits

When this fits, and what it does not do

A good fit when

  • Considered purchases where the decision takes days and a follow-up is expected.
  • Leads that arrive from QR codes, a website chat button or Click-to-WhatsApp ads.
  • A team willing to ask for consent in the chat and send follow-ups only to those who agree.

Needs a person when

  • Quotes, visit times and price questions.
  • Any lead whose consent is unclear, before anything is sent to them.
  • Opt-outs written in the customer's own words.

Not established by this page

  • Any increase in conversion rate: Slide publishes no measured outcomes for this workflow.
  • A Do Not Call registry check inside Slide: there is none, so it is your process.
  • Where customer data is hosted. Ask the Slide team before you sign.
Questions

Direct answers

How do businesses in Singapore use Slide to follow up WhatsApp leads?

They label each enquiry with its source, answer it in the chat while the 24-hour window is open, and ask before closing whether the lead wants follow-up messages. The answer is stored on the contact. A salesperson takes over for the quote, and a week later a campaign sends an approved template only to leads who said yes.

Do we have to check the Do Not Call registry before every WhatsApp follow-up?

The PDPC applies the DNC provisions to marketing messages sent to Singapore numbers over WhatsApp. A number must be checked against the registry within 21 days of sending unless the person has given clear and unambiguous consent in evidential form. Slide does not check the registry, so either send only to leads whose clear consent you have recorded on the contact, or run the check yourself for numbers without it. Whether a recorded chat answer counts as consent in evidential form is a question for your adviser.

Is answering someone who just messaged us treated like a cold follow-up?

Inside the 24-hour window you are answering a question the customer has just asked, with free-form replies. The DNC guidelines are about marketing messages, so the case that needs planning is the marketing template sent after the window has closed. If a reply inside the window also promotes something the customer did not ask about, ask your adviser how the rules treat it.

Does the Spam Control Act apply to WhatsApp messages?

It covers unsolicited commercial messages sent in bulk: more than 100 in 24 hours, 1,000 in 30 days or 10,000 in a year, and since 2020 instant messaging accounts are in scope; they do not need the "<ADV>" label that email does, but an unsubscribe facility is required. In Slide, that means a stop instruction in each template and opt-out keywords added to a list that starts empty.

What should the bot handle, and when should a salesperson take over?

The bot can collect rooms, sizes, the address and the consent answer, because those are the same for every lead. A salesperson should take over for the quote, price questions, visit times and any lead whose consent is unclear. The handoff step passes the collected answers to the inbox and emails the team, but it does not keep automations paused, so end the flow at the handoff.

What account and approvals do we need?

A Meta business portfolio, business verification, a number not registered on the WhatsApp consumer or Business app, and a display name. Follow-up templates are approved by Meta, not by Slide. You connect through Meta's signup window inside Slide and keep ownership of the WhatsApp Business account and number.

Which tools does it connect to?

HubSpot with two-way contact sync, Shopify, Google Sheets and Forms, Meta lead ads, Cal.com, outbound webhooks and a public API. Cal.com books a date and time you give it; Slide has no availability lookup, so in this workflow the salesperson agrees the visit slot. Salesforce, Zoho and Calendly are not built.

What drives setup time and cost?

Meta verification and template approval set most of the timeline. Synquic says it can migrate contacts and have a first automation live within one business day, outside those approvals. Running cost is the plan in US dollars plus Meta's per-message charges from the wallet, which grow with the number of consented leads and the templates each receives.

Source:Meta Business Manager guideBilling and wallet guideBilling and wallet guide

Which languages can follow-ups use, and what support is available?

Templates can be written in English, Chinese (Simplified), Malay and Tamil, covering Singapore's four official languages, and free-form replies inside the window can be in any language. The Slide dashboard is in English. Synquic provides email support on plans and a bookable product demo; it does not publish support hours.

What should we measure?

The share of enquiries that agree to follow-ups, delivery and read rates for the follow-up templates, how many follow-ups lead to a reply and a handoff, how many leads become customers, and the opt-outs after each send. Slide reports WhatsApp sent, delivered, read, failed and cost, and logs each automation run.

Source:Campaigns guide

Why might Slide fit, and what should we compare?

Slide lets you capture the lead's source, ask for consent in the chat, store it on the contact and target follow-ups at that segment, with address requests for Singapore numbers and templates in all four official languages. Compare platforms on whether they check the DNC registry for you (Slide does not), how consent is recorded, how unsubscribes are handled, where data is hosted, and which certifications are complete; Slide's SOC 2 Type II and ISO/IEC 27001 are in progress.

Key facts

Key facts: WhatsApp automation for sales conversion in Singapore

Slide is a reasonable fit for a Singapore business that gets leads on WhatsApp and is prepared to ask for consent in the chat and follow up only those who agree: source-labelled lead capture, a stored consent answer, campaigns to a consented segment, address requests and templates in all four official languages are built. It is a weaker fit if you want the platform to run Do Not Call registry checks for you, or if you plan to message large lists of numbers with no recorded consent.
